About Us

Akua: means "God".
Our hostel is inspired by the Hawaiian people and we mainly practice the Aloha spirit. In the Hawaiian language Aloha means much more than "hello" and "goodbye" or "love". Its greatest meaning is: to share (hello) with joy (oha) the energy of life (ha) in the present (hello) ”.

 

Concept: it is the concept that we follow in providing excellence in our services, bringing wonderful experiences to our guests.

Península de Maraú

There are beaches with warm and transparent waters that mirror the sky, natural pools, coconut trees, mangroves, rivers, the mixture of races and creeds, which make the Maraú Peninsula one of the most visited destinations in the country.

 

Barra Grande is an old fishing village that is located at the northern end of the Península de Maraú, in the state of Bahia where, currently, its main activity is tourism. There are two accesses to reach Barra Grande, sea and land, and the nearest airports are Ilhéus and Salvador.

How to get

To reach the Maraú Peninsula, the best option is to go to Camamu, from where you take a speedboat crossing through Camamu Bay, arriving at one of the peninsula's moorings - Barra Grande, Campinho or Porto do Jobel. Another option that appeals to adventurers is access by land, via Itacaré via BR 030.

 

BY AIRPLANE  
Daily flights to Salvador and Ilheus

GROUND (see condition)

De Ilhéus – via Itacaré (BA 001)
Follow BA 001 towards Camamu.
After about 80 km, when reaching a roundabout, head towards Maraú / Campinho / Barra Grande via BR-030
(This road, BR 030, is gravel and, with the exception of winter, is in good traffic condition.)
Follow this road for 45 km until reaching Barra Grande.

 

From Salvador - via Ubaitaba (BA 001)  
Coming by Ferry Boat to Bom Despacho, follow BA 001 to Camamu in a course of about 180km. From Camamu, travel on BA 001 until the interchange that indicates Maraú to the left. From the interchange, follow the directions mentioned above for those coming from Ilhéus.

 

MARITIME - Via Camamu  
Those who wish can park their car in Camamu and take a speedboat or boat to Campinho, Porto do Jobel or Barra Grande
Board a speedboat in Camamu towards Península de Maraú.
